With the engines at takeoff thrust a low pitch angle would have the thing sledding along pretty quickly, I would guess. Especially if they weren't keeping an eye on it.

The skin on that crown section has been pressed in forcing the frame to ridge along the rivet lines. Given how thin the atmosphere is at altitude one wonders if it was very, very close to the warhead.
