The Yak-18T certainly had a loss of power on take-off.
The airfield and aircraft inspection as well as an interview with the PIC confirmed EFATO! As one of the owners I have first hand...

As many have said before, 'teaching'/instructing is a great part of aviation, BUT, only get involved if you really want to teach.

As far as 'pay' goes, negotiate but don't work for free....

Navs before GFPT?

I feel that doing a GFPT ( basically a handling check) takes a great deal of pressure off of a newbie...the PPL flight test then becomes a NAVEX...a little more realistic no?

Attitude (speed) power trim!

My pref would be Attitude....4 fingers (?)...speed approaching 80+ kts, then power reduction and trim....I must be getting old too!
