You can address to Newcastle with EuroFPL too, and much easier/faster than AFPEX.

Just enter Newcastle tower into one of the additional address boxes just before you click the last "file" button.

I've been flying S/N 117 in Europe this year. I think it is a great bird. Fast, easy to fly, and (mostly!) reliable as all get out. Transition from the turbine singles is pretty seamless.

The difference is a privilege vs a limitation, and a key point is that the single engine PA46 and single engine turbines do not have a TYPE...

The vast majority of European FIRS allow off airway routing, so off airways, or IFR to airports not served by airways or nav-aids is no issue at all.
