Same here, spoke to stellenbosch minutes after this thread started. Very helpfully staff, I will also be flying with them as a student PPL from the UK at the end of March as I will be home on holiday...

In most cases (like the current one) it's both...

In most cases (like the current one) it's both middle and inner ear.... Discharge is normally also present when they get severe. Sometimes my throat is also affected i.e. red/sore.

At around 21h00 tonight I saw (I assume) a commercial a/c at +/- hdg 270, +/- 5000ft, faster than normal for a/c around here at that level, completely dark except for wingtip lights and flashing...
