I'm no doctor, however, I would imagine you would be fine, providing you do not have any trouble reading close to your eyes, eg, reading a book at a 30 cm away from you.

I have not heard that the scholarship is back, however, I would imagine that 13 hours is enough to send a cadet solo, rather like the gliding ascholarship which offers enough launches to send cadets...
