I also found it pretty useless. Flying with a 500-1000hr experienced instructor would have been much better.

Also, when I did my AFI rating under the old rules, it only covered certain aircraft...

A. Not enough.

I like many am in a situation where I would like to be a career instructor but I am forced to look at other options due to lack of cash....

As I see it...

...the point I'm making here is whether or not bloggs can be ragarded, in legal terms, as a safety pilot - and therefore whether or not this imaginary scenario can legally take place.

Thumbs up Easy way is...

...to think of it as a screwdriver, and pretend your putting a screw into a bit of wood.

Go clockwise to screw it "up" and anticlockwise to unscrew it.

Works for me anyway

The whole idea of JAR was to tidy up the licencing system. Private pilots operate privately, commercial pilots may operate commercially, simple!
