Dont hold your breath

Bluebaron,

I applied and my CV hit their desks 2 weeks before closing date. I have heard nothing at all, no acknowledgement, not even a 'no thanks'. I know that their interviewing starts WC 11/11/02, and I understand it actually starts today.

phone em.

Mate, give the HR mob a ring and check to make sure they recieved your application. Maybe it got lost in the post or has fallen down the back of a desk. If you had the minimun hours I am certain they would have replied to you. They seem to be very good at correspondence until they they dont want you anymore.

Britannia Correspondence

Applied mid October. Enquired by e-mail last week and got politely told that they hadn't finished selecting for interview. Received my rejection letter today. Got no problems with how I was dealt with, even though I was unsuccessful.

Was told that selection for interview times/dates will be today and letters will go out today or at the latest Monday. For those pilots not in the pool it will be standard interview/sim and for Hold pool just interview.

Anyone know course dates/numbers required etc?

Regarding the sim ride, things seem to have changed a little between the time the last letter was written and the one about to be sent.

The dates of the 26 and 27 are a definate for the holdpool guys. Despite the recent letter, some of us WILL have to do a sim ride. Seems like some NOT in the holdpool will also be using sim the same day and the suggestion was that 2 of us would be in the sim at the same time for approx 1 and 1/2 hrs!! Not sure if your currency has anything to do with it, as Im current on jets and still penned in for the sim. So expect a surprise this week.

Nor me

Oh well I ll be spending spending a few days at LGW next week so if it isn't for an interview, it will be a good opportunity to catch up with a few mates.

Fingers crossed the guys/gals who had start dates last year get called up before the latest batch off new unrated recruits. The whole things stinks if someone has been swimming for 3 years and then gets shafted by a newbie. No offence to newbies.

I actually spoke with HR and they confirmed my date, time and sim. They also promised the letter would be in the mail Monday. Still no letter.

What was that about?

What does everyone think of that then? Interviews ranged from 20min to a blistering 6!!! I was lanced on the sim a lot more than last time too. Heres one for the records:

'We are 100% committed to getting all the holdpool guys onto courses. Unless of course someone typre rated comes along'

Hope that I wasn't singled out.....my interview lasted 35 minutes.

Hey MAX, why did you have to hop in the sim and others didn't?

Cheers all

I dont work very hard.

It would seem I did the sim as, although I'm employed and current, I havent dont enough flying to hit whatever 'hour' mark they find acceptable. It was all very relaxed in a good cop/bad cop kind of way.
