I believe the aircraft ended up in the USA but was donated to the RAF museum and restored a couple of years ago. Not sure if it is on display at Hendon, Cosford or stored. It was a one off for...

The Freelances were in the hangar at Coventry for years but believe they are now at Kemble and that one, G-NACA is flying now. Seem to remember seeing something about them in a recent flying magazine.

I would suggest CFS at Coventry, they are situated in the old Alvis works and do all the overhaul and repairs for the Leonides engines used by the Air Atlantique Classic Flight.

Good luck to them but Air Atlantique took their DC-6s out of service for good reason and I cannot see that a DC-4 is a more profitable aircraft to operate. Carries less and is slower!

Amount of flying varies depending on which fleet you are on with the ATR being the busiest. Company budgets on each pilot doing about 500hours a year.

The RAF operated a total of 11 C-54s between June 1944 and July 1946. The first was used by Winston Churchill and the aircraft were operated by 24, 246 and 232 squadrons.

Not Air Atlantique but Atlantic airlines, seperate companies now. One ATP will be operating from LTN to BRU, GCI and JER for DHL. One for TNT I have been told and a third aircraft on the way possibly.
