I agree proper preparation is essential, indeed it's a legal requirement. But there are plenty of ways of ensuring you are properly briefed on the essentials without having to contact the airfield...

Out of curiosity, what we would happen if you turned up to one of these airfields without such a garment (and declined to buy one if the airfield operators tried to insist)? Can't you 'just say no'?
