My 7100 also had a similar fault and also randomly resetting itself. For a while I could just give it a sharp tap/hit to the side and it would spring into life. Unfortunately even this doesn't help...

If arriving by rail the best overall viewing location would be on level 13 of the multi-storey car park. The Airport Hotel pub is walkable distance but depends on which runway is in use at the time.
