The end of an era...

Final DC-10 passenger flight.

Final boarding: McDonnell Douglas DC-10 makes last passenger flight - CNN.com

(Many years ago there was a spoof-documentary of those 1970 DC-10 crashes. Name was something like 'The Air Fix'. Anyone have a link to it???)

Isn't there talk of an enthusiasts flight from BHX sometime involving a DC-10 before a parting out flight? Or has that gone to the wall now?

The aircraft will then remain grounded in standby mode while awaiting the arrival of its successor, a shiny new Boeing B777-300ER -- and eventual shipment to an undisclosed aviation museum in the United States.
Aka knackery!

If you meet them someplace, don't taxi closely behind them!
I did, they almost torched our flight deck literally firing up their APU
