Yesterday they dumped thier 2009 AW-139's and we flew all day in the 1984 S-76A++ steam gauge Phase II's. With both having over 20,000 hours each on the airframes.

The S-76 will land on the beach very well.

But I would hate to imagine the additional cost of doing so on a regular basis. I personally would not drive my $15 million dollar car on the beach....

Any E6-B type of calculator can give you the time at your 80Kts groundspeed or any groundspeed you choice. The chart just have the commonly used airspeeds on approaches precalculated for you.

Our S-76C++'s have a lot more installed equipment that makes the workload ,situational awareness and creature comfort a lot better than the older A++'s. Not to mention better single engine...
