Thought the same, by what I heard from people on the ground they did land it nose first - luckily not the same outcome as in Narita.

I also worked there for 4 years (Swakop and Whk) and arrived there like all my friends "factory fresh" in terms of experience. We didnt have any crashes (there were a couple of close calls though)...
