Understand they had problems with the gear on takeoff, returned and did a gear up landing. No injuries. Aircraft still on runway and runway still closed. All traffic diverted to MBA / EBB / JRO.

I believe (and correct me if I am wrong) that the whole P2 on the 208 came about when there were lots of 208's on UN contracts and the UN stipulated that all UN aircraft must have 2 crew.

Prang of C 182, 5Y BAM. At Chepgoiben.

It seems the pilot had little idea of the strip when he got there and attempted to land downhill.
Seems he judged the runway wrong and tried to touch down...

Express is still operating a few domestic routes at present: KIS, MYD, LKG.
So you can still wash that sand off in the old Indian Ocean, just a bit further north than MBA.
