There are other factors involved, such as fuel, maintenance etc. Also the pilots ability to pull off the auto, that blade doesn't look like it was spinning to fast when they hit. Not just MD issues...

Don't know about you fancy rig flying blokes, but on tuna boats you lay down fishing net or rope, so said helicopter with metal skids does not slide off said boat with metal roof.
