Yea, im not afraid of flying. Im just too concern about the theory. Im 40 with kids. Thats why I need to find the most convenient way.

assuming you dont need an IPC, then you dont even need an instructor for the 6 approaches. All you need is another FAA pilot to fly with you as a safety pilot and YOU shoot 6 approaches...

Most probably you have an FAA PPL/IR.
In addition to what SkyM said above, you will need to do at least 2 instrument approaches (one of them has to be with one engine inoperative)...

I dont know about other countries but in the US, nobody seems to care if you have it. i personally have an MBA in aviation and cant find a job. But i suggest to do it if you have the time and money....

AGI and IGI are the easiest test you can take. Basically you have to take one test for FOI (fundamentals of instructing), one test for the ground instructor and another for the instrument instructor....

You can do our 6 approaches in any approved simulator. As long as is a Frasca141 for example, it doesnt matter if its JAA or FAA approved. Just make sure you have an FAA CFII to sign your logbook

i am 99% sure that you dont have to pass an IR flight test. If you bring your JAA licenses in an FAA office, they will give you a PPL. Then you pass the written test for the IR which is only 50...
