Just Wondering
Hello,
i was wondering about this scenario:
Lets say there is somebody who got his JAA PPL(single and multi engine ratings, night qualification and IMC) 4 years ago, with no desire to fly commercially at that time.
Now, 4 years later he/she decides to become an airline pilot. Based on the fact that he took 7 written exams for the PPL, does he/she have to take all 14 writtens for the ATPL now? Or he/she gets credit for the 7 he already took? Whats the actual procedure?
thanks

hi cypilot. The ATPL exams and the PPL exams are two completely seperate entities i'm afraid. I'm afraid you will have to take all 14 ATPL exams. The PPL exams will stand you in good stead though if thats any consolation.
