I have around 1800hrs in the 114 and can say with the gear out they glide like a brick. Sad sad situation, the return to land after EFATO has trapped many an aviator.

Its more than the removal of the control surfaces, stripping and painting. From the initial estimate to the final balance can be astronomical. It's "what lies beneath" that add greatly to the costs....

The CP should have called it. When young guns get under pressure the CP tucks him under his wing and calls the flight off. EVERYTHING must be assessed....everything!

solid old bird and a good load carrier. has a little trouble with ZFW with two up. Spar, seat, tail AD's all resolved. Wet wing can cause problems. Spare parts are reasonably hard to procure now but...
