I hate to say it, but this step has been overdue for a long time. All other major competitors (United, Continental, US Air) already did this in the early to mid 2000's. AA has been less competitive...

Just to clarify:

American Airlines' only service to Germany goes to Frankfurt. There are daily flights to FRA from ORD (767) and DFW (777).
Hamburg is not on their list.
There are no AA flights...
