It was very kind of T-T-O to post some of my photos. It was the hangar in Poroma, probably taken in 1986. The Puma Js and BV107s moved from Tari to Poroma in 86 working for Chevron.

he1iaviator I hope you don't mind me posting your pics on this thread. I saw them elsewhere on pprune & thought them an interesting addition to those already here.

Just been having a browse through this thread and thought that some of you may be interested to see this.
It's ZH 814 owned and maintained by FBH, operated by the AAC in Brunei. In former lives it was in Bristow's colours and registered as (amongst others) VR-HGL, EP-HBU and G-BGMH. My collegues and I fly this and 2 others now (814 has 30,000 hrs+!) and I'm trying to have a print made featuring this one as it's our oldest. If anyone out there can provide any accurate history for it, it would be much appreciated. I've asked FBH themselves but they're obviously too busy to get back to me (probably trying to source another 212 since we lost one in Belize last month!)

ZH814 is also bristow's oldest 212 (infact oldest aircraft) although not the earliest one they ever had sn 30504 was abandoned in Iran following the revolution in 1979.

Built in 1971 your aircraft was utilised on many bristow operations around the world including Indonesia, Iran, UK, Nigeria, Trinidad and was also regitered in Bermuda as were all the Bristow overseas aircraft at one time.

It's departure from Iran following the revolution is an interesting story which can be found in the bristow book "Leading fron the front".

Army a/c in non-combat and training role, hence the cam paint scheme.

As for the day-glow orange....try finding a down-bird in the jungle or swamp without them.

Orange bits can be easily removed if required.

Last heard of in Nigeria registered 5N-BEN but I don't think there are any 212s there anymore.

I took that pic about 3 months ago at a site known as LP414 in the southern Ulu Labi, Brunei. I'll put in a couple more (as they're ex-Bristow aircraft, I guess it's relevant to this thread)

I had the honour of taking ZH814 through 30000 flying hours, it clocked it whilst sat in a river in the Temburong area of Brunei. Hope the photos work............photobucket virgin alert!!

ZH814 may be the oldest 212 and 30000 hours is indeed a huge milestone for any helicopter but it is not the highest houred 212. 9Y-TEY has over 32000 hours as does G-BFER. Quite which component is the origional I'm not sure perhaps just the manufacturer's serial number plate.

Speaking of Brunei, here's one of the Sperry AFCS equipped 212s. Seletar Singapore, before delivery. 1980'ish.

PS. The reg above the Att Ind appears to read AMDB 131.
PPS. Second thoughts, I think it's 132. Whatever.
