You need to set up a web-based hosting account with, say, photobucket. Don't use your real name as a login as the web path is available for all to see! And password protect the account!

Then upload your photos from your PC to photobucket and post the link to the page with the IMG code.

There are detailed instructions somewhere on Pprune about how to do this.

Cheers

Nothing

Nothing wrong with that Huey, he's laying down a smoke screen. Tank of smoke oil fits in the troop compartment, sprays oil into the hot exhaust, voila, a dandy smoke screen. Crew chief loves it when he has to spend the next week scrubbing everything aft of the exhaust to get the soot off. Smart pilots stop by to help & bring along a couple of cases of cold ones.

Well the other two look like they are trying to get away from him as quickly as possible. Looks like a piston ring gone to me, had the same thing on an Alfa Romeo once.

not inteding to hijack the 'round the world thread for book referals, but:
I recall reading a book, titled 'Permission to kill', about a Huey door gunner on a smoke ship called 'Pollution-1'.

I also wasn't aware of them until reading the book.
(I was only just learning to walk back then).

It is a fictitious novel based loosely on real people & true events but is a collage of many individuals situations that were not experienced by any one person alone (at least the author acknowledges it rather than taking credit for others actions) all collaged into the experience of the main character who is aptly named for his role.

it is a good read, funny, tragic, exciting, terrifying.
it does however go into detail the operation of the smoke ship & its role,
as well as some of the 'mods' that they make to increase the likelihood of their survival/extend the application of thier 'utility' helicopter.
definitely worth a look-see

the only link I found to it is indicated below, I received the book as a loaner many years ago, wouldn't mind being able to pick it up again for a glance

Here's your answer

XM52 Smoke Generating Subsystem. The XM52 was a Research and Development project for generating smoke from a U.H-1D/U.H-1H "Huey". Atomized fog was produced by introducing oil into hot engine exhaust gasses. The system consisted of a 50 gal. self-sealing rubber oil tank, pipes, nozzles, pump, and control unit. For line drawings of the XM52 smoke generator, go to

Merlin at Silverstone...

Apologies for not being up to speed on the heli types but do you have any more of the Air Force Merlin? (I think it is).
This is the only other half decent shot I got of the Merlin....It was backlit on its approach, and I left the circuit before its departure...

From what I read in other threads, I'm sorry I missed it...Supposedly said departure may have been something that would have been worth documenting...

So, not exactly a keeper, but since you asked...

Silverstone AS-350/355s

Here's a smattering of A-Stars....or perhaps I should say "Squirrels" for you European types...

And one small indulgence here...this is obviously not from Silverstone, but
taken as Ascot a couple of weeks ago....Just wanted to share it now that I have an audience who may appreciate it.
