It's a tracking strobe; looks like they have a separate nose panel in green with the strobe unit fitted to it.

A bunch of photos from the big fires in the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia.
Charred and scorched land as far as you can see.
The fire is now about 55 by 25 miles across. Over 900 square miles (2,300 square kilometers).
Some shots from one particularly busy day.
Sorry for some of the "soft focus" shots. The camera autofocus wouldn't always cooperate.
So much for the fire break.
Bulldozers hard at work on another fire break.
My view through the belly camera. Why lean out?
You just have to remember to subtract the line and bucket length (100' in our case) off the radar altimeter readout so you don't get too low.
A Carson S-61 in the dip. Since they are tanked and use a snorkel I guess you would call it "The Suck".
The K-Max's leaving the dip.
The world's slowest Chinook. The K-Max's were flying circles around this guy!

A nice part about having a bubble window is that you can get interesting shots without getting your arm ripped off from the wind.

Bell 407 production aircraft #1 and #500
The following photo was taken at Kassel/Calden Airport, Germany in June 2006, showing Bell 407 (D-HJSP, c/n 53500, MFG date SEPT 2001) of Hanseatic Helicopter Service taking off for a sightseeing flight over Kassel.

So actually just some 407 pics, but what I like is the contrast about these two machines -> Production Aircraft #1 and 500#, it was just great having the oppertunity to photograph them.

no he was not. The pilot, who is from Austria, has several point of views about flying aircraft in gerneral which I do not support neither I want to mention them...
In the picture he is seen riding D-HMON after a longer maintenance, this might be another explanation for this spectacular take-off. He just could not wait flying her again...

Combining work with pleasure while at 203 Squadron (Sea King OCU) at RAF St Mawgan.
I've always had enormous admiration for SAR crews. Flying with 203 while working at St Mawgan served only to increase my respect for their skill.

July’s photo is of a Chiltern Air Support Unit EC135 carrying out a casevac from the streets of Henley on Thames. The patient was an 80 year old woman who was severely injured by a dumper truck.

No, it's not Fowey.
I think it may be Port Isaac on the North coast of Cornwall between Padstowe/Rock and Tintagel, but I'm not very familiar with the area and forgot to ask at the time.
I'm sure one of the SAR pilots here will be able to confirm or correct.

I am amazed at the amount or main rotor droop. Those blades Must go pretty close to hitting the top of the tail on those big boys on initial startup.
