HLS Caterham Surrey
Hello Everybody !
I am looking for a landing site near Caterham and not having any success. If anyone knows of one could you let me know please. It needs to be closer than the usual suspects at Biggin or Redhill. Can't get in contact with Ops at RAF Kenley at the moment but will keep trying.
Thanks

Having flown at Kenley many years ago, as I recall the airfield is only active when the VGS are flying at the weekends.
Don't know what number you've got, but if you google Kenley's VGS you might well find a mobile number for the OC. I suspect that if you were talking about going in while they were active, they might well see the benefit for the cadets to have a guided tour around a shiney helicopter...
That said, I'm pretty sure the site is owned by the local council - so it might all be too tricky.
Best of luck...

Landing in Bellagio/Italy
I am looking for infos to land in Bellagio (Lago di Como). I would appreciate some "parking space" for 2 nights as well (JetRanger or BO105) but if it is not possible to stay there, never mind.
The one contact i have does not speak english very well....and my italian is....non-existant...
Thanks in advance

The hotel offers guests the facility of arriving by helicopter. The coordinates are North 51 12.237' West 002 Helipad

HLS in/near Letchworth Garden City anyone?
I used to regularly land my 44 at The Letchworth Hall Hotel but new directors got twitchy so now I'm looking for a new site. as close as possible to the town centre and happy to let me land once 3 times a month or so?

North Wales
Any suggestions from fellow Rotorheads for somewhere to stay this weekend in North Wales? Looking for a decent hotel with room to land a R44 and excellent food. Anglesey or anywhere near the coast would be ideal.

I have eaten here a couple of times and its a fantastic location....
Wales hotels, Maes-y-Neuadd Country House, Snowdonia
They do have a helipad if you phone and ask I have not landed there but made enquiries in the past Close enough to Caernarfon for fuel etc

Finally, I would avoid Caernarfon like the plague - £30 landing fee for an R44, even if it's just to uplift fuel - RIP OFF! Llanbedr will be open for business soon, but use Welshpool in the meantime - no landing fees at all and very friendly.

Seiont Manor Hotel, Snowdonia
We stopped at the Seiont Manor hotel on May Day bank holiday, great hotel lots of room for landing.
Landed in Caernarfon Airport for fuel and was charged £15.00 landing fee for R44 but did have over 100Lts of Fuel and found airport staff very unhelpful will avoid in the future.

Hotels in North Wales for helicopters - Seiont is good, hotel tired, food used to be excellent. Tyn Rhos - loads of space, rooms pleasant, food variable. Port Tocyn, on the end of the Lleyn Peninsula - wonderful food, rooms so-so, loads of space, great location, not hugely close to Angelsey - owner Nick Fletcher-Brewer can be Fawlty-esque at times.

How much was it G-MADY, do tell!
A Jarvis too - (YUK) and in lovely Hemel Hempstead!
Greedy blighters, although in mitigation it must cost them a few pence to have some Polish bloke mow the lawn every few days.

Landing point, Aviemore Scotland
Anyone know of a decent landing spot near or at Aviemore, where I can leave an R44 overnight?
Visiting a friend, so don't need a hotel, but happy to pay for a landing and the overnight stay of the aircraft

£100, double the most expensive aifields I know!
And the grass WASN'T even cut!!! There were some white slabs to mark out the HLS though....
It was the grimey curtains that got me though! Felt a bit like Colditz after passing the first 3 blocks!
