That red 407 pilot is my friend, he's really nice and has been flying forever with no accidents so he must be doing whatever he's doing right. It took place in Mexico City, live a little.

Um.....

Well,

If that was an R22 it would just be business as usual at the ramp of any flight school. Isnt this normal?

Searching for a video....

Can anyone help me with this? There is (or was) a video on Youtube that was part of a six-part set. It was a documentary-type programme on helicopters, probably made in the early or mid-eighties. I think it was part of an Equinox or Horizon documantary programme but can't be sure. It seemed to feature a lot of the experimental technology then being tested by manufacturers. The video I'm looking for (I think it's part four of the series) starts with that crash of a Fairchild-Hiller FH-1100 at an airshow. It runs for another six minutes or so and has footage of the first NOTAR prototype in the middle.

I last viewed this video about a year ago. When I looked for it again this year, I couldn't find it. Maybe it has been removed, for whatever reason. If anyone knows the video and can provide a link to it, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Speaking about wiwi..
How about talking a quick slash during what appears to be a video shoot of an enstrom in action

Compared to the guy in the JetRanger at Spa I'd have said the 407 Pilot was obviously quite sane.

Agree with you there, thoug 3 more feet would not have hurt
Good fortune for them 350 drivers at Spa to take before the JetRanger, good chance it had ended in one big crash differently

Why the tailboom strike in the MD-600 running landing video? the landing seems to be rather smooth and the strike comes way after touch down.
Is it lack of forward cyclic or what?

Unless someone knows otherwise it does look like too much aft cyclic, good video to show when teaching EOL maybe, that once your on the ground the cyclic isn't going to slow you down.

I think test pilots know better than that.
Probably due to high speed and vibrations.

Or?
Maybe full aft cyclic on purpose?
Wasn't the length of the mast increased after that?

Hear what your saying about Test Pilots knowing better but why would you apply aft cyclic on purpose?
What would you be hoping to learn from such a test?
