ROTORHEADS AROUND THE WORLD: Videos
RPG's work a treat at close range....and can be used in the anti-aircraft artillery (flak) mode if the Insurgents have the proper training and right model warheads. I see they have .51's....which are proper anti-helicopter kit as many of our Old'Un's can testify.
I just viewed a really neat video of an RAF Wokka that got plugged a while back in the Stan......this link will take you to it if the pprune software will allow it.

Brescia based Eli-Fly are situated not far from my home and an operator I have known for many years now. Seen here performing concrete bucket work.
Anyone who flew with Hong Kong's Helicopter Services might have had experience doing similar work - tedious, but I understand the buckets fly well as an underslung load.

great vids try this one
it's great to see helicopters being worked hard its what they are designed to do not sit in the hangar as expensive paper weights, waiting for the right peice of paper that says they can fly.Although I do draw the line at tree cutting with a 500 they are tiny blades the 44's are much better, and anyway it's the pilot that makes a flight safe not the rules and regs .
or this which is much safer cuase its got more engines
this one is proper OMG

Pardon my ignorance, but what in this clip is extreme?
Extreme high-performance snowmobile?
Extremely cold with the door off?
Extreme white snow?
Extremely nice weather?
what am I missing?
Well, than again it might be extreme for certain pilots in more Airbus-type jobs.

We often found these on the course of a day and bring them home during free time. The local snowmobile club had a set fee and it worked out well for all involved. Yes, if they called for a dedicated trip, it could get expensive.
Royal Bank of Scotland video with CHC EC225
Nice video of CHC EC225, and pilot Andrew Smith extolling the virtues of banking with RBS. Not sure if this TV ad is showing nationally, certainly it is showing in the Grampian region. Lovely shots of the 225 lifting from a farm field above the seaside cliffs, with Dunnottar Castle in the background . Also spot that strange metal arch advert thing that sites on the roundabout on the way in to ABZ ...

Chief Bottle Washer
Two for SASless
Chief Bottle Washer
Skillful: but would it have fitted on the road bed if it had landed along the bridge?

I don't recall seeing this one before
Nor me.
From the NTSB:
13 May 1990
THE SIGHTSEEING HELICOPTER HAD JUST TAKEN OFF AND WAS ABOUT 50 FT IN THE AIR WHEN TAIL ROTOR DRIVE AND CONTROL WAS LOST. THE PILOT EXECUTED A POWER ON FORCED LANDING TO THE OCEAN. THE TAIL ROTOR GEAR BOX FAILED AT THE CASTING AROUND THE INPUT DRIVE GEAR AND THERE WERE SIGNS OF LOGJAMMING ON THE INTERIOR OF THE CASTING. THE DRIVE GEAR WAS NOT RECOVERED FROM THE OCEAN.
