I work for ADA. Can't wait to get of the racing bus that's out of control heading down hill heading for a wall.

Accomidation: Built 30 years ago and full of mold, very unhealthy

Pay: Although we've had raises with the declining dollar where making the same as we were 6 years ago.

Management: Can't say anything bad about them because we haven't had any for the last few years. Don't know who's driving the bus?

SOP for the area mate. Go to a third world operation thinking they are first world. Expect the worst, take what you can and bugger off before you get bitten in the posterior. Take any of your new skills back to the real world and enjoy. Management skills in the area or who’s driving the bus, well, what do you expect, zip.

ADA- Been there done that. The most worst company i have ever worked for.
True is a bus at now full speed waiting to crash.
If you like been the only L.A.E on a shift trying to supervise and sign for the work of a small army of fitters on twenty plus aircraft that have flown for the day then this is your place.
Any when it turns to **** you get the pineapple up the by the white shirts and so called management who are trying to look good and keep there positions.
Any one looking do not bother.

How are the contracts in Ethiopia and Afghanistan? Is the money in those places better and how is the housing in them? What sort of flying are they? I heard Ethiopia is EMS. Where is that based?

Well I've certainly had enough of Nigeria and despite the lower money with ADA I'm rejoining. You think there are engineering problems in Abu Dhabi, just have a look at the state of some of the 412s in Nigeria and see what happens if you wish to snag anything . The old colonial Mafia still rules and living and working conditions in many places are a disgrace. There was an effort to try and hide the fact that a pilot there had Legionnaire's Disease, caught in one of their major bases, by claiming that he caught it elsewhere. I may be stepping out of the frying pan and into the fire, but with the way things are deteriorating with both CHC and Bristow in Nigeria, I don't think so

As far as I know, they only use the S92 for "royal" transportation.

Anyone care to provide some info on whether GH is recruiting at present or has done so this year? If someone could provide a recent update on working conditions and what people are getting in with in terms of experience and quals for experience...it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Falcon aviation Services UAE

Good morning

Would anyone with any experience, etc care to give an HONEST appraisal of Falcon Aviation Services in Abu Dhabi and their UAE plans for growth, etc? This is not a fishing exercise and I would ask that it not turn into a slagging match, it is simply a request for a genuine perspective on the company and its potential as a possible work place. Thank you in advance.
  • Rumour has it that the chief pilot has resigned? If so who is replacing him? How does this reflect on the company and its operational future? Who are the fleet captains, ops manager, etc? How do those working there and those who have worked there view the future of the company?
  • With the loss of the UAE SAR contract, how has this actually impacted on the company?
  • Types actually operated? Is it only the B4 or are they operating the A109, L3, 412 and 365N as commercial machines? If so on what type of operations?
  • Bases? The B4's operate from the Festival City in Dubai at the new helipad. Also the L3 has been operating as a back up to the B4's, which have had AC issues. What is the general maintainance actually like? Will this continue or will the L3 be primarily used for aerial work, banner towing, etc? How is the aggreement with Alpha Tours and the Festival City working? Is Bateen a useful operational base, given the restrictions that are in place over Abu Dhabi? Where does the company envisage the future going with regard to its UAE and Gulf wide and or international operations?
  • Experience levels? The advertisement in Flight last week and on the website requires 2000hrs, un-restricted ATPL, IR, etc, etc..... What are the plans for pilots with these qualifications? Are the B4 tour pilots similarly qualified? Is there a tiered system of salary and conditions versus qualifications and operational use? I believe that the company is about to start a Total contract? If so how long, etc? Two crew or single pilot?
  • Salary and conditions? Are there both single and married and accompanied contracts available, with accomodation, school fees, etc both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi? If so can anyone give any information on what is on offer?
Many thanks.

Snoop FAS

The guy they have hired to take Cals spot is the current EHI chief pilot on the SAR contract, will move over at the end of Aug when the SAR contract ends for them. The guy worked in the UAE for the police why not ask them what he has to offer?

Just be aware there is a few egos running around and they are not aviators???

Best to ask the company directly in which direction they well might be heading thats if they will answer your email.

FAS

As with all things in the sand pit, getting information is almost impossible prior to actually turnng up on the doorstep and signing on!!!

It is a shame that no one from FAS or who has been with them can make an objective comment on the operation.

What to do

My curiosity has been aroused while passing through Dubai and seeing the EC-130's flying around and wondering what career progression, etc is available to these pilots and those who may join?
