ATP Helicopter Pilot

I'm new to this site, just logged in this morning, but have been it reading for a few days. Thanks for the heads up! You probably saved me some money!

I also think the Abu Dhabi Aviation thing with the General is a Scam. He's called on the phone several times. I sent all the requested forms, copies, etc., but no money. He wanted $1310.00 for processing and mailing me the hard copy of my 2 year contract for $1450.00 a month contract, a residence visa, work permit and U.A.E. ATP license. Sound too good to be true. It probably is! Oh and I forgot to mention when he sends all that other stuff I will also get an advance of my first check [$14,500.00 and a travel & expense check for $2520.00]. I spent a lot of time on this yahoo, I like to get my hands on him.
I wrote an email to the real Abu Dhabi Aviation at the email address on their real website. The General had an add in jsfirm's website so that's all one had to go on. Wonder how many sent the money?

Does anyone know where a highly experience ATP 212/412 driver that's 61 years old can get a high paying job for a couple of years?? I need to shore up my retirement fund. Every place I've had good leads on, have a 60 age limit in that country. I'd work for Blackwater in Iraq, but don't have 250 certified NVG hours, only 75 of the old PVS-5's.

One other thing that leads me to believe it is a scam is that he sending me all this info, when I do not meet the hour requirements listed on ADAV's website for helicopter pilots (and that is clear in my resume). He even sent the "online resume" to one of my junior instructors who only has 350 hours total !

It does sound WAY too god to be true....

I've been advised by a former employee of ADAV that this is most definintely a scam and that it is being conducted completely differently than the way the real ADAV do the recruiting / hiring process. The main point being that ADAV do not require you to send ANY money for visas, etc....

Well, anyone who has been through the process of getting a UAE ATP will know it's a scam straight away!

One would think that someone from ADA would be on this guy like white on rice for using their company name, logos, impersonating their employees, etc.etc....

RIGHT !

It is definitely, 10,000 % a SCAM. I've just gotten off the phone with the secretary to the chief pilot (pleasant lady) after a LOT of attempts to get to speak to someone who matters there. They really do not seem to treat incoming business calls there with a lot of seriousness at all....

She confirmed to me that they (Abu Dhabi Aviation) are aware of the scam and that there are NO agencies or third parties that can do recruiting for Abu Dhabi Aviation....

Irecieved a voice mail from the "General", and he in no way sounds Middle Eastern, there is a CLEAR West African accent there, so if you are contacted by said "General" suggest to him to go back to Nigeria and proceed to fornicate with as many baboons as he can before dropping dead...

I don't think the real Abu Dhabi Aviation uses a hotmail address. Their email address is: [email protected]

I got the scam email address from a big add on jsfirm.com, it was a hotmail email address.

Then the information, all bogus, started coming. They even had a written test that took me about 2 hours to answer their odd questions. Then the information about the swell job and the need to contact the Emirates Council and Immigration Service. I sent all the information they requested, and had several calls from the general! I was about ready to send the $1310.00 USD to them via Western Union [call me gullable] when it all seemed just a little too suspicious. I made a few phone calls, [although no answers from management at the real Abu Dhabi Aviation couldn't be conected to anyone of responsibility, and no one answerd my multilpe emails, they don't seem to care]. Anyway one of my contacts had worked at Abu Dhabi AV a few year ago and he said that wasn't their [ADVA] way of doing things and suggested this website [pprune]. Best thing I have done in a long while! My friend said what sounded really suspicious about the add they had posted on jsfirm.com and in the material they emailed me was they said the living quarters were First Class. My friend says Abu Dhabi Aviation has the worst living quarters in the mideast. Anyway this website [pprune] saved me the money and got me a couple good leads. Don't know yet how they'll work out, but I know I won't be so stupid if I get a call from another "general". By the way, he [the general] must be really stupid, he called again at 06:30 this morning after I told him where to go a couple of days ago and hung up on him.
Good luck and let this be a good lesson for all of us. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't!"

Yep, exactly the same "deal" myself (1400+ hrs )and a couple LOW time guys I know got offered for a job that requires 3500+, and it all started with the same source - the ad on "the Firm" website...

I'm just waiting for the baaaaastard to call me back. I've already written him an epistle of an email and advised him that everyone on this forum is on to him, as are ADA's management.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably IS !

Telecommunications in Dubai

For those of you living in the UAE, I was wondering how you contacted friends/family in other countries. I have just discovered 'Skype' for free video messaging, but read on another forum that Dubai blocks "all VOIP access and related websites" for security reasons. Is this accurate, or are you able to use your webcam to make calls and save $$$? Thanks in advance.

Cool ADAV Recruiting BIG SCAM

Hi guys, I'm an ADA Pilot, just to confirm that agency is a total scam, the process of recruitment is only thru the official web site, we don't have 2 years contracts, and we get around $96000 a year working 8 and 4, to convalidate the UAE ATPL you need to fly here an A6 registered helicopter with an IP holding an UAE TRE license so is not a big mistery just apply on-line and wait for the answer, they'll call if you have the minimum requirements,
Cheers
