This confirms my suspicion that you are not with Gulf Helicopters any more...

That's true I'm back in Canada now. Why has Toon moved on? Changed his Nationality? Time certainly flies in the Heli Biz.

Toon a Kiwi?

Bugger,

I'd never have hired him if I'd known that - we had more than enough "down unders" at that time!

Trog

BTW John - all the best from Nigeria if you read this!

Certainly not. American are all loud and obnoxious.

Australians cheat at Cricket.

Now I've offended everybody.

Neither are you. Is it true some Bristow guys got shot in Pt. Harcourt last week? If so maybe we should both go back...............and ride our bikes around the airport in Kish in the heat. When It's winter here I dream of the weather in Kish.

But Toon is a Kiwi.

No Africaner can tell the difference between a Kiwi and that other country down there whose name escapes me right now.

Hi to lovely Mrs. S and beautiful baby girl.

I've read through the last few pages of this thread and see that loads of people are asking what they pay captains and co-pilots there. Up to now no one has answered the question. Does anyone know? Someone mentioned that they don't get paid enough, but what is classified as not enough?

Not enough

You must be new at this

It'll never be enough. Remember the helicopter stops whining at the end of the day, we do not.

Yes, well of course! No one is ever paid enough. But realistically, how does it compare with other helicopter work around the world? Is it worth it salary wise to go there for a few years?

Yes I am new to this offshore work, but I'm starting to look at something other than just long line and survey. In need of a different scenery for a change.

Last I heard Captain's pay worked out to around 31000 dirhams per month. Divide by 6 for UK, 4 for US equivalents.

This information is not up to date.

GHC pay increase

Greetings all and happy new year. Re all the recent posts on pay scales in the Gulf; I'm on a leave rotation but heard from my trusty grapevine that the powers-that-be at GHC have approved a whopping 5% (yes, FIVE percent) pay increase. Not sure when it's effective, I hope I still have time to plan how I'll spend all that extra $$$$$$

Gulf pay rates..

Can anybody out there give me a realistic pay scale for a Cat A captain in GHC and ADA on 8/4. Have worked for both in the past and need to know a realistic figure for future planning. Please P.M. me only.
Thanks.

Persian Gulf 43/43 schedule?

I read somewhere about an employer in the Persian Gulf (Dubai?) that works pilots on a 43 on/43 off schedule or something similar. I searched and searched but can't find it. Does anyone know what companies off this?
Thanks in advance

Ah thank you very much.
I skimmed through that thread hoping it would pop out at me as I am sure that must be where I read it some time ago. I just missed it the second time. It's a HUGE thread with an old start date so I wasn't sure what is still accurate.

Again, thank you!
