I agree. Avoid at all costs. Appalling and toxic. Complete and utter waste of money.

L3Harris Airline Academy

I applied; L3 emailed me back promptly to say I'd been accepted for the next stage of selection. They're asking for a £50 'selection fee' for their Integrated ATPL Programme: (Is this normal? My uncle, who was a pilot for 25 years says that it sounds ridiculous to charge people a fee.)

That’s very normal because no matter what you score in your aptitude tests, they’ll still accept you onto their integrated programme. Go modular and you won’t have to pay for any of these selection fees.

Thanks; but what is the point of doing the tests if they don't affect your being accepted?

Because it’s just a money-making scheme. Why would they turn down a potential client who’s willing to put down 120k for a license that can be earned at half the cost and have the same chances of employment.

Fair point. Are you a commercial pilot?

If you pass you’ll get the warm fuzzy feeling of being ‘accepted’ into pilot training. You then feel confident about embarking on the course, post it on the gram etc.

Plenty of schools do it, it’s by no means unique to L3. But as has been said, the idea of having to pass a test to hand over £100K is clearly nonsensical, they want you no matter how poor you do at the tests. May as well be passing a test to be allowed to do your weekly shop at Tesco for how much worth it has.

It has been said before about L3 training in the UK. Avoid at all costs. Caveat emptor.

Not really. The new owners should be in place by then.

Yes I was due to start in December, had already handed my notice in to my job and then the hit me with the option to get my deposit back, or stay on until 2025 (which I opted for). And luckily managed to keep my job. I consider myself lucky as some who may have been starting in November may of not been as lucky and lost their jobs.

I was due to start in December too, I have not heard any more information about this and only found out about it from a friend that is at the school at the moment doing his ground school.

Same story as me, due to start in December and I decided to stay on with them. Been chasing them for dates and keep getting reply’s saying we will just get back to you as soon as we know anything. Give me a PM

Let Google be your friend.

There are more red flags about this establishment than a Soviet victory day parade

you say that but I’ve got a Freind there at the moment and ye says it’s really good on the inside. Yes their office staff are unorganised and slow but the instructors and investment are really good. Brand new state of the art facilities, aircraft and sims.
