once you hold a cpl/ir with mcc course this is termed a "frozen atpl" and becomes an atpl upon attaining certain experience levels, so no you will not usually pay any extra for an atpl as you can seek employment with a frozen atpl (cpl/ir)

Hi all,
I went on my 1 hour trial flight on sunday (27th) in a Piper PA38 Tomahawk.. it was so bloody fun .. I remember before we're about to take off we had to wait for an Easyjet 737 to take off and you could hear the pilots talking to the tower which was great - I took a photo as we lined up for take off and waited 2 mins for the turbulence from it to clear.

Anyway, it was a great experience but I do have quite a few questions:
1. I was extremeley tense and nervous when we were up there, I remember when it was getting quite bumpy and we were being flung around a bit I felt a bit scared - do you get used to it and did you ever have that same feeling?
2. We couldnt go above 2000 ft I think, why was this?
3. The ATC comms. seem very confusing and well, fast paced - do you find it hard to keep track of everything?
Anyway, It was a great experience and I really enjoyed it - loved listening to all the pilots talk to the ATC'ers in the background - really interesting

Don't worry about it. When I first started my PPL I often wondered if I would ever be able to understand what my instructor and ATC were talking about! But like anything it comes with practice.

Advice Strongly Needed
HELLO
Ok im new to these forums so please excuse me for any mistakes if i make any. Im 15 and am already thinking of becoming a pilot. I need as much help as I can so I can find the best route into flying. The only problem is that I dont want to join the RAF because I am then bonded to them for 12 years. SO Please can I have some advice. Ive heard i need money, physics, and maths.

I'm 29 in the UK and want to be a pilot, please help!
Hi everyone. I'll try not to bore you with the same questions but can someone help me? I'm based in Nottingham and want to learn to be an airline pilot. I can re-locate to London if required. What do I do step by step and roughly how much does each step cost and how long does each step take?

I think the first thing you should do, is a trial flight lesson, so that you can see if you like or not!!!
Then there is twop routes you can take;
-Modular
-Integrated
-Modular= cheaper, but taakes longer. You would be doing the course in modules: Private Pilots Lic. ( £5000 ), Then theory course for the exams ( £2000), Hour building £10000 ), Commercial Pilots Lic. ( £5000 ), Instrument Rating (£12000 ), and all skills tewsts on top, so its about £27000 - £30000
-Integrated = Expensive, but tends to be quicker, Like the name says, and Im guessing its about twice the price of modular!

For a start read the first post in this forum (that big sticky at the top that you saw but decided to ignore) then come up for air after 2 weeks of reading through all of that. Then go off and grab one of the pilot mags from WH Smith. Go to the back and read the various adverts from all the flight schools. Use those to give you the web addresses and read all of the marketing spin contained therein. Most of the websites have useful information about the various licences you will need and the minimum hours to get each. After digesting that then you will be in a better position to make an informed decision and come back with more specific questions.

best flight schools, australia, TR...?
this might be a long drawn out question so I will do my best to make it as simple as possible. I'm graduating this year with a B.Sc. and a B.Ba. but now I want to become a pilot, always have just put more emphasis on my education.
I want to go to the best of the best regardless of cost, just as long as they are highly recognized in their training in the industry, so does anyone know a few around the world where their pilots are highly sought after?
Also, can I extend that question further by asking, what flight schools does australia have and are there any that are really good and/or comparable to some around the world. I ask cuz my fiance is down there doing chiro and I'm getting quite sick of doing this so... its a final push, ha.
And finally, to add to some of the questions about type rating, I've looked at intercockpit-lufthansa and they offer three type ratings in 737 and A320. Now is it really that crucial to obtain type rating at that cost (~80,000e) when you are only graduating with just under 250 hrs? Would it not make more sense to go to a flight school for like 45000usd and then use the extra 40000 to just get your flying hours up? What are ppls thoughts on that? Oh and on top of it, your really only banking 15hrs in the simulator so... when I assume you'd need alot more than 15 hrs + 250 TT!!

If you have money to spend, learn Dutch and cough up 140,000 Euros with KLS, KLM's Flight School. The flight training is pretty good and if you keep your nose clean, you end up with a job in an old fashioned legacy airline (ie. a job worth having).

Hey all, im studying ppl in australia at the moment but recently have had thoughts about completeing studies and flying right up to frozen ATPL overseas. Anywhere anyone can recomend? Just thought it could add to the whole experience.

CPL & ATPL Help Needed
I would like to find out as much information on CPL & ATPL routes for example what you can do with each and what route is best to take.
I know my information is a little bit on the small side but just want to know, what i can do with a CPL in the line of work and the same for ATPL.

Getting to fly...Sky high
Hi there.
I think you guys are the best to help me. I fly at least 20+ times a year. I've wanted to be a commercial airline pilot, currently studying for my GCSE's. What do i need to do?
I'm British, good eye sight....this topic hopefully won't just help me, but also many others.
What A-Levels do i need. Do i need any degree's? Do i need to go to University, or do separate pilot training at a college. Or do i when i've got my a-levels go straight to an airline?
