zac21,

A great photo too. The elderly B727 trijet still looks fast, standing still. I love the modern winglets and the classic aft stairs. Just so practical! I have such great memories of travelling around Australia in them. :ok:

Shouldn't be too hard.......

Grass is a bit long, but I think it is my driveway?

Aussie Bob, great photo. Miss flying ZDA and hopefully the new engine is as strong as the old one!

Aye Ess 22nd Apr 2014 08:02

Oh,Aye Ess,has already been lurking and loitering here. I can feel my smock, beret and oversized, novelty artist scarf needing a wearing.

Nothing like the photographic quality of Piano Man, but a couple from recent travels.

And a mate from YCAB who has invested heavily in preserving Australian aviation history with the first ever Beech in Oz. If you ever have the privilege to see it it is immaculate.

Spraying Beaver

The Beaver spraying looks like it was east of Balaclava, SA, so perhaps Kenny B, or Bob Beattie.

I don't believe I actually met the pilot for this particular aircraft on this occasion. It was a while back (mid 60's perhaps??) but Ozaggie you are spot on with the location. 'Tis indeed Balaklava to the left of the Beaver. Well done! :D

The name of Bob Beattie rings a bell - he may well have been on AG work in this area - perhaps I heard his name mentioned by the local contractor who used to arrange for these ops. Unfortunately he is no longer with us so I can't ask him.

I've a few others of Ag operations in this area in that era - I'll look them up and post here when I get a bit of spare time.

THE FIRST Beech in Australia.

You can read more in Classic Fighters( or Classic Wings....I forget the name) or other places on the web.

This is the best restoration I have seen to date. Along with the Stinson Reliant from WA. Both are :ok::ok:
