Would that be a Sun Compass?

And what's with the brush in the pen holder? No doubt an essential piece of equipment!

ABX 9th Dec 2007 04:13

I reckon the brush in the pen holder is for dusting/cleaning the console...?:8

Blue Sky Baron 9th Dec 2007 05:24

Love the stick labels.....just incase you forget what does what.

compressor stall 9th Dec 2007 17:52

Here's a couple more.

This is what 53 knots looks like. You can't taxi on skis, just slide to the side of the strip and dig metre deep trenches in the ice with a shovel to bury plates to tie the aircraft to.

And then the following afternoon....

Isn't it a requirement for EVERYTHING to have a label on it these days in the cockpit?

Is anything taking place re repair of the aircraft or is it just rotting?

Ovation 10th Dec 2007 01:05

Is

anything taking place re repair of the aircraft or is it just rotting?
The wheel fell off in May 2002, and it sat in a hangar at YPPF from then until recently. The engines and fuselage were taken first, and the wing last.
The design of the undercarriage left a lot to be desired. A circlip poorly inserted into a dirty groove allowed the oleo to separate.
The SA Government gave it to HARS in about 2005 and they took until Oct 2007 to dismantle and remove to (I believe) Murray Bridge where the repairs are to take place.
I doubt very much whether it will fly again, but I hope it does. There are only one or two pilots in Australia actually endorsed on the replica - none within HARS.
