Well,

I wonder, given that this is obviously some HR related requirement, if one were to pay all that money to sit these assessments (in a quiet location so that no one can disturb you...as advised) if wouldn't be worth also paying someone (who was suitably qualified, e.g a Psychologist or someone like that if you're game) some money as well to sit with you to "assist" you through this process..? ...Hey! you could even agree to a "No pass no pay" arrangement or a case of Crownies or something....

Just a thought...(not that I would condone such an approach, but really, if it's about using what you can to "reason" appropriately, why not... after all, they started it!!).

All good and well to whinge that it's unfair to pay the cost of the assessment, but given the current situation employment wise in Australia, $400 is chicken feed to have to pay if you're wanting to come home, or are in need of a career advancement.

Still pays better than Jetstar.....

Edited to add - These psychometric and skills tests, have any of you thought that maybe they're not looking for the top geniuses, but rather someone who fit's their psychometric 'mould'?

Thanks DT,

I'm not surprised to hear that....Oh well, just a thought anyway. Sounds like it's basically "luck of the draw" or a "toss of the coin" for you guys. Especially those of you who are highly experienced. You'd think that in the current climate, you'd be first off the bat!

Keep trying guys and good luck!!!

Stiky

I hear they take in 40k or more in a steady month of testing. I'm in the wrong business!

Panel interview in Melbourne in early March, only the generic monthly updates since then. Would be nice to get some sort of an idea on a potential timeframe...

Panel interview mid March. Notified within 7 days. Not hearing is probably a good thing. Good luck!

Cheers

Tiger can't stay the way it is. At some point the parent will either expand it or wind it up. Rumour has it, it will be after the end of the financial year. Hopefully the cashed up owners of VA (you know the ones), will finally make the move.

Praying for a good outcome. The last thing we need are more pilots out of work.

Lets all hope you are right, and it better be before Qantas floods the market with qualified pilots.

Stockstandard- Sounds like you are nicely placed on the Tigerair "holdfile", so in a pretty good position when they start recruiting again. Hang in there & good luck!
