Virgin Blue hiring
Well the way I see it is a job is a job and in this industry a week is a long time. I guess that's commercial aviation at least. There will be no shortage of young guys lining up for the gig. Within a few years they'll be on the 73. Hardly torture is it?
Have a look at the CX and EK forums on here and see how many of those people seem to like their job.
That'll give you a hint that there's far more to it than $$$.
Same goes for the ex CI Capt I'd assume.

There is hope.
Word on the street is that there are a number of retirements coming up. Apparently some FOs are heading off to different pastures as well. Congrats to those that got the call.
don't you know that SSA employed a ex CX 330 FO and a ex EK 777 Check Capt a few years ago? Money isn't everything....
The guys I know are in domestic, thats not to say its not also the case elsewhere. Atlas you will enjoy its the best flying job I've had. Plenty of benefits besides whats on the salary page.
Neville, I say good for them. Took the risk, worked overseas got paid well and have good investments. Yes, they probably didn't like it after a while, but hey they are home flying a Dash. Lifestyle move, maybe not so much anymore considering the QF climate we're in.
