Its good to see that the "QF crew, it's all about you" mentality continues. Any words of wisdom or anything else to contribute except for the slanging match between LH and SH would be very much appreciated.

Roaming, not only can't you spell (it's grammar, not grammer)
Come in Spinner.
I'm not short haul,
even though you and your mates on here may like to think so.
In fact I just got back from a pleasant Bangkok trip with a couple of the newbies on the crew.
We had a nice massage at Lek (near the old pub if you didn't know),
went to dinner at the "Cracked Tile" and went shopping at MBK.
Not sure what goes on domestically
Yeah right Veronica, only l/h crew know about them.you have to be kidding us and you reckon that proves your l/h?Why don't you tell us about costco in la or lucky plaza in singapore or how about kenny's in nrt
Sure your l/h
we all believe you.

Come in spinner. Yeah right!

I bet you're short haul! Nice try though Champ!

By the way "your" in the last sentence of your previous post is actually "you're"

Pattystacker, there is very little unity between any real groups within the CC ranks (bases, hauls etc). It is most unfortunate.

You'd like that to be so wouldn't you veronica as it's the twisted agenda that drives your posts on this thread.

Poor, sad pathetic veronica..........

You couldn't be more wrong.

Sadly Veronica and those like her are just relics of the past at best. At worst they are sociopaths who actually get some perverse pleasure out of the misfortunes of others.

"Veronica" is actually a euphemism for lonely, bitter, and square peg in a round hole.

The vast majority of flight attendants are able to focus on the positives of the job. Whilst we all have things that we would like to change, we are able to make the best of it, identify things that need changing and strive over time to improve things.

The Veronica's of the world never have "solutions" to any problem, but they have become expert at identifying them and then relishing in the misfortunes of others who fall foul of them.

whilst she is on my ignore list i see the posts of others and from that i am aware that her nasty divisive attititude still prevails here. Sad really to be honest. This is a site for people excited about opportunities and yet she continues to only post about the negatives.

From my perspective the only negative in my many years of flying has been that the sociopaths like veronica manage to sail just below my target zone where i am not able to "appropriately" deal with them.

The veronicas of the world never publicly make their views known because if they did they would be stomped on like the other cockroaches. They live in a twilight zone eeeeking out an existence living on the scraps of others happiness.

in many respects they are the modern day vampires, sucking the life out of the healthy and living some sad half life relishing on the misery they cause.

To those thinking of becoming a flight attendant, its the best job in the world and you make your own successes and make great friends. Dont be put off by the Vampires...you will only see them if you hang around in the graveyards that have become their sad existence

Unhappy argus.moon

Not sure if post #1401 is directed at this Miss V

If so, please do not rope me into veronica's web

I have spent time on here reading and yes she is a stirrer, however the more people continue to reply to her posts the more she will stir the pot (I know I resist the urge to reply to some of them).

I hope I will be invited to an interview for QCCA. I will have plenty of questions and I hope people on here will reply to those questions instead of putting me on their ignore list because they think I might be veronica under another id

Just thought I would clear that up

Good luck to everyone that had their recruitment day today
During training, our class has passed lots of current CC in lifts, in corridors, in toilet queues, lining up for food etc etc and they have made us feel welcome, wanted and anticipated. Many thanks to these kind people. I don't believe ANY posts talking about unrest, division blah blah blah. There seems to be an excited vibe in building C and everyone is part of it. The people saying otherwise may be talking about a minority at best and s#%t stirrers at worst. Either way, there are more positive people to align with and believe in.

Its been many years since Longhaul had any form of new full time Australian recruitment and the vibe that the new lot are creating is a long overdue, breath of fresh air.

Those of us with years on the board are anxious to make sure that the new kids are are made to feel welcome as culturally it's always just been that way.

A word of warning!!!

You will be subjected to stories, legends, anecdotes and tales of old as a subconscious form of initiation into our rather unique heritage. Just as we were when we joined.

Humor those of us with stories of the past as the story telling is our way of bringing you into our family and as i said. It's always just been that way...........

The crew at QCC have been awesome, we have been made to feel so welcome by all that we have met its great.

Today we were getting coffee in the crew area and we started talking to a really lovely lhcc lady who was so happy to meet us and welcome us to the crew.

I just can't wait to get online and start flying with you all

To all the new guys going through recruitment at the moment, the training is so great it is just awesome (Sorry this is my catch phrase at the moment) I wish all of you the best of luck with your recruitment/assessment day/s

boys and girls ,speedbird is right and like any new job the newbies will be on a learning curve. This job is not only about work but a way of life and when they have finished with you in the mushroom factory and your out there in the real world you will learn and hear a motza that they won't tell you in the office.
I reckon it's a ball of laughter when you see someone here that is trying to put everyone off and even giving us elocution lessons as if thats important.the last thing you will talking about up the track is grammar (even if ronny took the bait like a starving dog)
you will have a lot of fun in our job and it's no surprise that Veronica doesn't want you to know that but then s/h did not like our eba so you can understand her pain.
the only thing you guys will not understand is the fun we used to have before the pc police invaded our world.but we still make the most of the job in spite of the fun police like ronny.
make the most of it and enjoy life because even if the slips are shorter than they used to be you still end up in places other people only dream about.

with all the keen newbies maybe mgmt could have a new engagement survey in 1-2 years
time. 1st survey results were atrocious but the 2nd survey results were never published, apparently the results were even worse.
to the newbies, we love the job, just hate management....not you. so if you fly with any jaded and disengaged crew who look like they are not enjoying themselves just give a quick squeeze on the buttocks as you walk behind them (male and female). this should brighten them up immediately. offering a vodka/oj can also get you in the good books with senior crew.
happy flying to you all

indamuddle.......................
You post is one of the nastiest posts I have seen on here for quite some time.
how dare you suggest that all senior crew are alcoholics.
How dare you state that you would pinch one on the and it would be welcomed.
What a nasty nasty post...... shame on you

I found it quite funny that indamiddle would think that newbies would believe that dribble. Being pinched on the arse would have to be one of the most insulting things you can do to someone you don't know. As for junior crew asking senior crew if they want a drink....indamiddle, I think you'll find that we may be new to Qantas, but we bring alot of work and life experience with us. Some recruits have even worked for many years with other airlines ( shock, horror!! )
If you don't like management, then think about changing companies. Otherwise, is it really that hard to grin and bear 30 odd hours/ week?

its not that hard to bear with a few g+t s under the belt!
cart exchange.... what's so nasty?
glad bbrear found the post funny, at least one new crew has a sense of humour.
why would i leave? i like my job. so what if i hate mgmt, i don't personally know any
of them, the last time i met a manager was over a year ago (had to get a replacement
shirt) and when gd leaves we will have a complete new set of mgmt. that is why we
call them the visitors. i think i am up to 3 or 4 cctm or cctl in less than 3 years. my hate or if you prefer, dislike, is not personal but has to do with crew reductions, service downgrades dressed up as revolutionary new products, pay not keeping up with cpi all while mgmt concentrate only on how they can maximise their end of year bonus.
go to go, very thirsty.
to all, remember some posts are just taking the p!$$

Call Button

From what I was told by an FAAA rep recently there will be a one-off large volume of transfers from Short haul to long haul not sure if this is due to the EBA or due to surplus crew now in short haul. CSM's will ONLY be allowed to transfer in category through the swap system as mentioned by Pegusus 747 therefore if they offer all on the transfer list the opportunity to transfer to long haul (which is what is being discussed I believe) and there are no CSM's willing to come over to short haul then the CSM will go to long haul as a flight attendant.

I personally hope that an announcement on this decision is made soon.

From what I was told by an FAAA rep
GH.......was that a S/H rep or a L/H rep?

Seeing that it is no secret that Pegasus is in/close to the union it will be interesting to see the outcome of your post and therefore the validity and accuracy of your source.

I'm interested in your phraseology in the wording of "the CSM's coming over to S/H".

It sounds as though you are still talking from the S/H point of view.

It was a short haul rep on board only a few days ago. I asked the question to Pegusus 747 some weeks ago now on the rumour doing the rounds therefore I asked the short haul rep when I saw them on board.

Who knows with this sort of thing though the faaa domestic division will tell members what they want to hear and at the moment a great deal of members want out of short haul.

I am not sure by what you mean as I am short haul wanting to go to long haul.

...As I said it was your wording that made it sound that you are S/H and now I can see why you want the rumour to be true.Good Luck
