In addition to the 3rd March, there's another external ground school happening on the 10th, according to my sources.
Still waiting on my f*****g first aid cert to arrive, so I can fax it off...everything else has been done....and I'm left waiting...
Sigh...

Thanks
I just wanted to post a huge thankyou to all the L/H crew for making us QCCA so welcome and for the support you have shown us. I just came back from my first trip and it was fantastic- all the crew helped me and made me feel really comfortable. Most of all, I actually felt like I belonged and apart of a team. I am really looking forward to my future with QCCA.
Congratulations to everyone who has just received the great news. I am sure you will love every aspect of your training and flying. To everyone else who is waiting, hang in there! I know the waiting game is tough.

Training will be at the Qantas Centre, next door to the airport at Mascot.
There's another training centre in Melbourne, out at Essendon/Airport West. Presumeably SYD crew will use Mascot, and MEL crew use the Essendon facility...but who knows.

During the MEL recruitment event someone at my session asked the question as well, and the assessor replied saying that most of the MEL training will be done at SYD ("we will accommodate you" were her words) apart from some of the Safety and Emergency Procedures to be done in MEL for MEL-based crew... it'll be an adventure of sorts for the MEL-based crew though to move to SYD for 6 weeks for training!

Point of clarification
You'll have CSMs and CSSs to make sure that nobody is too "cocky"
Don't forget that it is important for all of us to continue to get along.
The job wont be worth having if we don't...........

I have also just returned from my 1st trip and I also agree that the crew were fantastic. They made a real effort to welcome me , made sure I was o.k and really took me under there wing to show me the ropes. I had a great time.

Wow things are really moving
Made it to panel was so nervous. Recruiters were fantastic
For anybody attending recruitment day, the only advice I can offer is make sure all of your documents are in order, take copies and if you have any question whatsoever about what to take.....just take it! Always better to take more, does not take up much room in your folder. I'm not going to say anything about the day itself as I feel that is betraying QF and you are better off not preparing for something that might just change on the day and your thrown.
There is nothing to worry about. Nerves will kick in and that is normal so don't think you are the only one. There were numerous ex-Cabin Crew, most did not get in. There were a lot of young ones just out of school, most got in. So past experience is no bonus, recruiters know what they are looking for and from what I saw with the people that made it to panel, they are picking great people.
That's all from me, but check the wise words of the Crew that are already flying and offering information on this web-site.

Guys I am one of the 7 yr + AKL based crew and just wanted to say you are more than welcome like all other crew to come up to my First and Business class galley anytime you like. If there is food left over you are welcome to eat..after I eat first of course...lol
Dixon's-son is one of only a handful of 7 YR + crew and I have a good idea who that is.
What a poor sorry soul he/she must be. We are not all like that over here.
This person is obviously very jealous about your seniority and pay overtaking us, but hey thats life and if you don't like it ..... leave I say.
If you have any trouble with any crew pls speak with the on board managers as this will not and should not be tolerated.
Good luck

This looks like yet another wind up and attempt to start a blue from someone who is not happy about our new eba.
Sad isn't it.
But it's great to hear from crew who are flying and not only enjoying the job but can now see that the scare tactics from some are nothing more than hot air.
Welcome to the long haul club to those new crew

Dixons-Son..The Solution
This type of person is in the minority.
If you have problems with this type of idiot try to solve the problem with them.If you are unsuccessful have a chat with Customer Service Manager or the Customer Service Supervisor.
This behaviour is never ever tolerated.
Do Not be afraid to speak up.
On the aircraft we are a team and as such we help each other..... not throw obstacles in each others path
