Regional Express interview in Melbourne
Looking for some up to date info (post 2008) regarding the sim/interview process.
Do they still do the tech quiz?
I have been booking in for sim/int, but no mention of it.
Happy to accept PM's.
Thanks in advance.

I wonder if they still use the metro sim that everyone waxes lyrical about. And Roxy, GG has a point, in 4 years their recruitment process could be entirely different, concentrate on Air Law.
4 years to get there? Hmm i dunno.
It will take you a couple of years from now to get to 1000 hours before you get a look in on a twin. Then you need to get 500 multi and do your ATPL.
Add another year or two to that if you become an instructor as you will need to be a grade 1 with META.
Job List
There you go Roxy have a read. The minimum requirements for an FO are probably more than 10 times your current experience
It's hard to tell someone something when their glass is already full.

check out their uniforms
I think Qlink has better uniforms and it's only 700 hours TT and 250 hours multi.

Jeez, their minimums have gone up and are now higher than VB's and Jetstar! If you had these hours, then why would you not apply for for VB and Jetstar? Is Rex trying to tell us something here, that they don't wish to be a stepping stone for the jet operators?

Rex FO minimums
You need 2000 hours 500 multi and your ATPL subjects.
Rex have plenty of FO's from their cadet scheme, but from what my friends at Rex tell me, they have almost no upgradeable FO's. If they can't employ DEC's, then FO's who can be upgraded in 6 months or so are the next best thing.
DIVOSH!

Spot On!
Spot on DiV,
Sounds like your on to something there. It wouldn't surprise me if we see at least two waves (lets say 18mths apart) of DE FOs being employed who will get upgraded having been in the company 6 to 12 mths before any of the current cadets (by that time 3-4yrs in the job). This being because it will take that long for any of the current batch to get either the hours or experience to be upgraded. Nothing like being hired over the top of! (effectively)
FMC.

The guys I know getting interviews at the link have lots of turbine time or lots of multi engine command and greater than >2000 hours.
You're dreaming right now if you think you'll get into Qlink with less than 1000 hours or an interview with the Airlines with less than 2500 hours and lot's of turbine experience.
