Beautiful shot, with one of the nicest aeroplanes made. That model Holden was a good one too and look at the passengers. No short shorts disappearing up their bums and no tattoos. Elegant dresses with hand bags and men wearing suits. Looks like an Electra hiding in the background, ah...to go back in time.

Anyhoo,I agree ByG. Back then the pax would have paid for their tickets with cash or cheque (no plastic cards) in pounds schillings and pence. If the a/c was delayed no one would have abused the traffic officer with the F word...When did the world change for the worse?

Thank you for your comments. I've just a few more pictures left - including one of the Electra hiding in the background - well spotted
Regarding the EH Holden ute - they were a very good model indeed - I drove a green and white EH sedan to get these pics. Seven bearing crankshaft 179 motor too - power to spare! I had to fit the heater and a radio myself - they weren't standard.
To comment on an earlier question ..... I wasn't employed at Adelaide airport; my aviation involvement was / is in another somewhat diverse area. However a rekindled interest in photography is causing me to revisit ADL more often these days.
One other observation in respect of those already posted.... The term airport security was almost unheard of. There was a naive innocence in society where everyone was "OK" and trusted, and which made relatively close access to interesting aircraft very easy.
Alas it's not quite so these days - more's the pity

pretty sure the Red ute is an EJ, not an EH.
yer i know you're all going to poke me, that I am saying so because of the tail-lights. wrong, any d0pe knows they shared the same tail lamps for the ute across the 2 models.
The differences are a lil more subtle, when viewing from the rear.
Tailgate lettering. Much bolder and wider spaced on the EJ.
Lack of Drip Rail chrome trims. Only fitted to 'Special' utes on the EJ, and standard on the EH.
Other than that, front pictures required to really be sure

if you have a frontal pic, then that would confirm it for sure.
Keeping in mind, that front panels can be changed (not something you'd expect on a near new car), the surest way to tell the two apart from the front is to look at the vent(s) under the wipers.
On an EJ, its two piece, with solid scuttle between, and an EH's vent is one piece running most of the way across the scuttle.
There's nothing to say that this car could be technically wrong in use of an EJ tailgate and emblems, and the missing drip rail mouldings. It could well be an EH, minimised under a fleet buy....all sorts of shoe went on in those days.
The radiator grille, is a bolt on item, but the vent grille is structural, and requires substantial surgery to change.
As for my technical interest in the model, first car (and resto) was an EJ, and I am led to believe I was concieved in an EH prem
