Ahhh no, I did experience it, when you were flying the Retard Vehicle

And no, Lancairs pass Bo's way better than I can.

Re 'ANW',......
As the chorus of the song featuring this aircraft
goes....
"She was in love with the pilot, but he was in love with the
sky....".

Ref 9942
They are Wright Cyclones on the DC-3, still in place when it was at Big Mac.
Two other ASA 3s were used in WA for MMA in early '70s, I had the dubious pleasure of flying both, one giving us a spectacular failure at Roebourne with a section of the front dome missing, overspeed propellor etc.
VERY noise producing as against the P&Ws of MMA.

I was out there the other day and asked about the RAAF Mozzie. Still chuging along.....slowly.....
It will only be restored to static status, it was never going to fly.
*
Last I heard was that Point Cook museum had shelved their Mozzie project but that was a few years ago. Imagine them up side by side!

I have a relative working on it and I recall him saying that it would be a long term project and he probably wouldn't be around to see the end of it. They do great work out there and it's certainly worth a visit for anyone who is visiting Melbourne and has aviation bones in their body.

This one was taken from the excellent level one external public viewing 'balcony' at the original Adelaide terminal building. Apologies are tended for the poor quality colour - some of these really have suffered from the ravages of time and temperature.
I've manage to avoid capturing the rego mark on the fuselage; it may be VH-ANW again or perhaps another in the ASA fleet - others may know .....

FOR - some great pics there, really enjoying them because I was SLF around that time.
For fixing colour, Kodak has a great piece of software which will fix colour with one click. I use it all the time to fix my old Kodachrome slides from the 60's (lots of them mouldy and the colour shot to pieces).
Here's a quick one click colour correction - with a bit of work it could be finessed. There are other ways to do it, PM me if you like!

Cheers, and keep 'em coming!

A mate of mine took these last Friday as the boys did practice runs for Saturday nights Riverfire festival. The person in the rear has the tough job of taking pictures with their iPhone.

Just for Jaba!!

Well done to the pilots David Philips & Keith Skilling, Wal Denham and all his incredibly talented crew at AvSpecs, and most of all to Jerry Yagen for allowing his aircraft to be displayed in New Zealand prior to taking it home to the US.

Getting towards the end of these now. VH-TFK on the ramp at YPAD, taken (it would seem) on the same day as the earlier shot of the DC-6B - sometime in the mid 1960's.

Only two more pictures to go - at least from/at YPAD.

Dude: Great pics! An infinitely better combat aircraft it may be, but the Rhino will never match the spectator appeal of the F-111 and it's 'dump & burn' party trick. The most lethal machine in the Airshow Combat Group arsenal!
Slackie, very nice!

This man is a pilot....so we can't show you his face.....

No towering Cu, so probably not Butterworth, unless t'ain't in the 'Cu season'.....Then it might be over Willie...??

I wonder what'd happen if that was done today?!
