Coincidence, or not?
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/...ear-safeguards UN nuclear watchdog board finds Iran not complying with nuclear obligations The United Nations nuclear watchdog’s Board of Governors has approved a resolution declaring Iran is not complying with its commitment to international nuclear safeguards, diplomatic sources told Al Jazeera. The International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Board of Governors resolution passed on Thursday with 19 votes in favour, three against and 11 abstentions. Al Jazeera’s Hashem Ahelbarra, reporting from Vienna, described passage of the resolution as a “significant diplomatic development”, noting that it was the first time in almost 20 years that the IAEA had accused Iran of breaching its non-proliferation obligations. Al Jazeera’s Tohid Asadi, reporting from Tehran, said that Iran will likely have a “tough response” to the IAEA resolution, adding that the upcoming talks between the US and Iran on Sunday would be “highly-influenced” by the vote in Vienna.….. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/israel-...n-sources-say/ Israel is poised to launch operation on Iran, multiple sources tell CBS News U.S. officials have been told Israel is fully ready to launch an operation into Iran, multiple sources told CBS News. The U.S. anticipates Iran could retaliate on certain American sites in neighboring Iraq. This is part of the reason the U.S. advised some Americans to leave the region earlier Wednesday. The State Department ordered non-emergency government officials to exit Iraq due to "heightened regional tensions," and the Pentagon has authorized military family members to voluntarily leave locations throughout the Middle East, a defense official told CBS News….. |
……………
The U.S. Embassy in Israel has restricted the travel of diplomatic staff and their family members to the areas of Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, and Be’er Sheva, due to “heightened regional tensions” with Iran. Similar actions were taken by the Embassy prior to both attacks by Iran against Israel in 2024. Additionally, the U.S. Embassy reminds Americans in Israel to remain vigilant and maintain a high level of personal security awareness. Be prepared by knowing the location of the nearest shelter in case of a red alert. Security incidents — including mortar, rocket, and missile attacks, as well as unmanned aircraft system (UAS) intrusions — can occur without warning. The situation remains complex and may change rapidly in the coming days. |

Being covered on Fox News in USA by Trey Yingst now from Israel.
US Ambassador sent text saying something is happening. Then Israel confirmed they are striking targeting the nuclear program + ICBM sites. President Trump calling a Cabinet Meeting tonight. US not involved in strikes. |
A silver lining to this cloud: based on today's news, my wife agreed that no, she does not want a vacation to the Holy Land next year.
Good. I didn't want to go anyway. |

Israeli media reporting that the first round of strikes on Iran in Tehran tonight targeted a number of high value Iranian personnel.
Multiple apartment buildings appear to have been hit across the city. |

If you follow that link and read some of the comments, you'll run into this: Which made me laugh; who drinks Budweiser? Full Disclosure: I have to keep watch on the recent Air India crash, so I'm also checking in on other forums that are active. Following your link was probably a wrong thing to do. |
Israel confirms that it struck key members of Iran’s nuclear program. Seen here, a Tehran apartment with multiple floors blown out by an Israeli missile.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GtSS2oOW...jpg&name=large

Iran confirms Head of IRGC killed
From Press TV, which is affiliated with the Iranian government : The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, was martyred in the Israeli attack early on Friday, according to unconfirmed reports.Several other senior IRGC commanders and nuclear scientists are also among the martyred in the large-scale Israeli attack in Tehran and other provinces across the country. |
Iranian senior military leadership confirmed killed so far:
Major-General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran Major-General Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander Iranian Armed Forced Central HQ Major-General Hossein Salami, Commander Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps Plus several senior nuclear scientists in multiple simultaneous precision strikes |
This will likely get very ugly indeed.
You'd have to think that the Mullahs (those who are left) would order everything ballistic to be unleashed on Israel. Presumably that's what the ongoing strikes are targeting. What would be the sequence? Decapitate the leadership as you strike retaliatory sites, then hit the nuclear targets? For a comparatively small air force - wonder how the IAF has done it - likely extensive use of that unknown drone they used in the last strikes. |
