That explains a lot. Thanks.

The incompetence of Russian military is beyond belief.
Now they've managed to shoot their own civilians.

You are of course correct, however in a dictature with a 3:1 population advantage over its opponent, this kind od occurence counts for nothing unless it happens at a time of popular revolution.

Last night, Petro Andryushchenko, advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, posted on his Telegram channel about Kadyrovites in Mariupol attacking the Russians:

☄️ Kadyrov's men are attacking Russians in Mariupol. Literally right now.

In the Kirov area (at the intersection of Shevchenko Boulevard and Metallurgov Avenue), a group of cars with Kadyrovites and Russians (non-Kadyrovites) gathered. All of them are military. There is a lot of noise and shots.

Over the past half hour, the number of cars in the photo has increased by about 20.

The Russians, the "Russians" have called in a special unit to contain the conflict. But something is going wrong (well, yes, but not according to Russian plans)

🍿Grab your popcorn, today the Russians will attack the Russians.

Retribution has come from where it was not expected.

Two Tu-22s now being reported as having been destroyed - plus a third written off earlier in an unreported ground accident (overrun, abort?)

Unbelievable. My father, an ex-Marine, taught me 'never point a gun at someone unless you mean to use it'. Never, even if you think it's unloaded, and here these soldier clowns are firing right at the crowd with what they assume are blanks.......

☺️☺️👍👍

“Is the exchange of territories of Ukraine considered for joining NATO?” was asked to Zelenskyi.

“We are ready to exchange Belgorod for Ukraine's membership in NATO,” Zelenskyi replied.

What a boss.

DEFECT: FIRE warning light remains on
RECTIFICATION: FIRE warning lightbulb removed, operations satis.

DEFECT: Landing Gear warning horn sounds continuously
RECTIFICATION: Aural warning C/B cycled, fault remained. Checked gear down micros, found missing, bypassed by #8 gauge wire. Horn now silent. AC satis.

Order of Lenin citation for heroic captain of SU-22M

The commander bravely saved the runway from rubber deposits at great personal risk, embodying the greatest tradition of sacrifice of grass to the greater good of the Empire. Without any fear of the consequences to the gophers, the commander was through his exemplary skills able to divert his aircraft, itself a tribute to Soviet engineers supreme skills (Supreme Soviets one may say) in making frying pans fly with the sufficient use of thrust, achieving flying pan status, and converting this magnificent machine into a Rome Plow. At the same time, the pilot and copilot were able to save the wear and tear on the tyres which can be salvaged and placed onto the aircraft in the first photo onto some other ox cart that moves vodka for system cooling. The crew have been authorised to remove whatever alcohol that remained after the ground staff attended the aircraft, for their own richly deserved personal consumption.

There are at least a couple of Ukrainian civilian centres that will take longer to be hit by the gang. Amazing that a couple of angry locals with quadcopter can achieve what the UN, and the west cannot, to proactively stop a crime in progress. The Ukrainians will get eventually A model F-16's, with various upgrades, how long can the west also defer giving them ammo for their cannon, and missiles for their pylons? On past record, that should keep the force from being a meaningful counter to the crimes of Vlad for the next few years.

On military aviation matters however, after Luna-25 made a new divot on the moon, has Russia yet declared to nuke the moon in response to its unprovoked attack on the Russian probe spreading more "mir" as well as aluminium, hydrazine and RTG warm bits around?

[ To T-28: yes, yes, I know, JB or bust, one cross each, first on the left... but, in defence, this is military, it is aviation, and it is hardly less of a joke than the UN has been for 18 months, or our best efforts to send bullets and bombs a day late and a dollar short, after all, it is only Ukrainian blood being spilt at this time ]

Various sources saying that President Zelenskyy has statedthat Ukrainian female pilots are amongst those undertaking F-16 training in Denmark. e.g….

Cant find any confirmation of the number of current Ukrainian AF female pilots at all, the only one I can find any data on is Nadiya Savchenko who was a n Su-24 pilot before being captured in ground combat by the Russians back in 2014 and later exchanged - and she appears to have very much a one-off at the time.

https://www.voanews.com/a/ukrainian-...y/3229715.html

However, things may have changed appreciably since then - note the numerous females now taking part in combat with the army - since the current war started. But that still seems a bit short to get more through the training system.

Any one got any other info?

What is the point in having blanks unless you are aiming at someone ? You are trying to simulate the real firing experience and sensation up to the final element where the bullet is absent. What I don't understand here , is what the para was doing firing at the crowd: they can't possibly have been intended to be standing in for the terrorists in this scenario.

The sergeant responsible later got a two-year suspended sentence, so I assume ( no other info found ) that he was found guilty of negligence and not intent.

You don’t fire blanks at anyone without a BFA (blank firing attachment) attached to the muzzle to stop debris and inadvertent use of real rounds. Blanks can still kill and wound.

Russian armor column destroyed. Any idea how did Ukrainians accomplish it? Some incoming rounds are off but the precision is astounding. Is it just well calculated and timed shot, or laser guided by drone? Mines? Other means?

Actually the main purpose of BFA is the pressure. The nozzle has the smaller diameter in order to create enough pressure in the barrel so a machine gun can function at all (to reload another round). Without BFA you could fire just one blank and the gun would jam immediately.
