I confess that I have somewhat warmed to the end result, even though it’s not quite to my geriatric taste. I do however retain some reservations about the overall cost, when cheaper (yes clearly BRITISH) options may have been on the table.

I understand from a source in whitehall that this was chosen as the TCAS was US on the aircraft and this was an easier way of ensuring other aircraft see and avoid the "BJ one"....
