The bomb squad decide to take it to Southend before blowing it up. Later it was revealed £2m worth of improvements were done to the seafront.

[ improvements to the sea-front were made before the bomb was exploded, because the MoD was in charge ]

Q .. Ah Bond you can hand in the Walther PPK, just as soon as we manage to miniaturise this pellet and it fits in a standard issue Civil Service umbrella.
