Like many, unable to sign the petition because I am not a UK citizen, but I passed the details onto news outlets here in Oz.

Let's hope they will give the situation even more publicity (though don't count on it - only a couple even know how to spell 'journalist'. Mind you, many seem to remarkably familiar with the word 'plagiarism', so there is hope!).

Council Planning Meeting Wed 1st August

Details for people wanting to attend have been posted on ARRSE

See halfway down this page:

http://www.arrse.co.uk/cpgn2/Forums/...tart=4845.html

I'm not going to copy everything here, but would just reiterate what PTP said that the press will be there (and hopefully in some force!)

Suited and booted is the order of the day for Blue Team, with shiny shoes, medals, berets etc where appropriate.

Get there early as we're expecting a large turn-out

'Today', Radio 4

I think (fingers crossed) that 'Today' (0600-0900) will be running a piece tomorrow, Wednesday. Usual caveats - it might not happen, especially if a big story breaks overnight.

If I get a better idea of the planned tx time, I'll post it.

I don't know about anyone else, but being a very small part of this amazing coming together of like-minded people with the determination to right a wrong makes this 'veteran' quite proud.

Well done, chaps and chapesses.

Excellent piece just added to the Daily Telegraph with direct link to the petition.

Our ad-hoc meeja team really have excelled themselves!

'Today' Radio 4

I understand that Angus Stickler's piece should be on 'Today' at about 0840 tomorrow, Wednesday - at least that's the plan as of 2200 Tuesday.

Believe it only when you hear it!

Just wanted to wish the Blue team best of luck for tomorrow. I have been an avid follower of events both here and on ARSSE. I sent my letter, signed the guestbook and the e-petition, but I only wish I could have done more.

My hat is off to all of you who have given up your own time, money and sweat to further this worthiest of causes.

Not a UK resident or subject so didn't sign - rules are rules - but am hoping for a thumbs up on this one for everyone here and on ARRSE etc.

I don't know what the equivalent institution in Canada is but the Chief of Defence Staff recently handed out gongs to Fisher House Landstuhl for their care of Canadians medevaced there for treatment and their families as well as $120,000 raised in various places home and abroad.

Mark, SSAFA is also active in Canada for UK Servicemen and families over there.

As for the petition, just 127 short of forty grand.

To all PPRuNeRs. Today we have a battle, we will win, either today or after the initial skirmish. What we have achieved with this and Mr Pun VC has been nothing short of staggering. The petition as I write is a tadge short of 40 thousand, which i do not believe has ever been achieved before in a 14 day period. I left the military 10 years ago and have always missed just one thing....the camaraderie. I have found that with you all. I never thought that such a band of brothers could be mobilised on a global scale. You make me proud of my heritage and i feel very very sad for the objectors on Red Team, because they have NEVER felt the sense of belonging that i feel. I have met such good people as a 'street walker' in Ashtead. If anyone needs anything in London center just get in touch. I will see those of you that are able to make it tonight. Those of you that cannot, we carry you with us in our hearts.

That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made
And crowns for convoy put into his purse:
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian:'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispin's day.'
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
