Fantastic effort guys and girls, well done to all involved in the hearts and minds campaign in Ashtead! I have a feeling that the "tricycleshaw" photo will become an icon for our new found veteran power! So many more battles to be won, but what a brilliant start!
Tigs you are fast becoming the acceptable face of the BOFs! A sort of Swampy Mk2 perhaps?

Stats for Headley court

Mike

Thanks for all that you and others from Pprune have done to support this campaign. I only hope that people quoting those stats are able to put them in the context of:

a. Those that are not able to get in there for waiting lists.
b. Those that slip through the net and are not detected by the system.
c. Those slightly closer to "head office", than they are to the patient; who may be seeking to play down the waiting-list issue ( if there is one) for fear of being seen to be "off-message".

I have not heard yet if any of the Sunday papers have picked up on this; perhaps it might feature ater the planning meeting on Wednesday.

In'sh Alla Cargoman or similar may be able to provide some more low-oblique imagery??

rgds to all

Indeed many slip through the net so to speak and end up with life long problems.

All my support etc. for this issue.

Quick question though - have the residents not seen sense and changed their position by now?

I can kind of see them, in the first place, hoping that the issue would go away or be built elsewhere, hence saw that as reason to have a little winge/object. Now it is clear that in doing so it makes them look like right selfish a-holes as their objections have no grounds, I would have thought that they would have caved in to the pressure by now. This assumes they have some feeling for the wider/greater need of others of course - I assume some do, even ones that at first thought complaining was an 'OK' thing to do and wouldn't hurt anyone. Some of them must be having second thoughts, no?

Returned from the McForge annual clan whiskyfest, sorry - gathering, to find another 30 pages or so to catch up on ARRSE. Well done the Blue Team! The Mobile Advertising Unit is magnificent.

Here's hoping Farmboy doesn't come in for too much stick, though I liked this one:

Mike - Today Ashtead, Tomorrow Ze Vorld!! Let's not get carried away with this campaigning malarkey, who knows where it could lead?

Shame on him

AT et al,

The mobile advertising unit was fantastic, drawing attention from all who saw it. Some smiled, some asked what it was all about and some just burst out laughing

All that is except one member of Red Team who was distinctly unimpressed

On a lighter note, the sharp eyed amongst you will have noted the unit of the individual pictured upon said machine for the photoshoot. I'm happy to say that I have video evidence of said individual pulling out from a junction upon said tricycle without indicating! A quite disgraceful state of affairs from one who clearly should know better!

Shurely charges should follow - we need to be [that's quite enough - Ed]

My guess is that they are planning some sort of statement painting themselves as the victims of a massive slur campaign in which their views have been twisted and misrepresented.
The truth of course is that their views have been brutally exposed and quite accurately represented; they just thought their nasty little letters would sit on file in the Mole Valley planning department awaiting the planning comittee decision to go in their favour.
Well its all gone a bit pete tong for them, and lets hope it stays that way

The facts are not that easily hidden. Their words have already been noted and each individual who has read them will put his/her own view on it.

I doubt that there is one word, sentence or paragraph that has not been scrutinized to exact the meaning that was intended. They must now accept that. They do not get another chance to expound their pathetic views other than the three minutes allowed for objectors. The same for supporters. It's just that ours will be from the heart.

Sadly I see that it looks as though one of the objectors (Hi) are having a go at the present occupiers of the property on the 36 greys Lane site. See also the ARRSE site

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO!

The poster "Mrs white" ain't half getting some stick though

Interesting that some of the residents have claimed that covenants on the property would be breached -part of that covenant states:
"and that no caravan on wheels or other moveable dwelling shall be allowed to come or be placed on the said premises". These covenants usually cover each house on the estate.

If you look on Google Earth at the first house south of the Chalk Lane road junction
51°18'21.04"N 0°17'42.49"W
there appears to be a very caravan shaped object on the drive!

Did anyone who did a walk-through notice any caravans?

BTW, I emailed all the councillors on the committee and, although they cannot comment on the outcome, took the time to reply in an encouraging way

Good luck to the team on Wednesday

You're clearly seeing things old chap.

The google image clearly shows a family car typical of the area which just happens to look like a caravan. Let's face it, they're the same size after all

Sadly, when I walked the area a few days ago, I didn't see a single caravan or motorhome. Not even one split screen VW campervan

I've plotted growth of number of sigs on No.10 petition since it started on 18 Jul. Looks like 40k may be achievable by the MVDC meeting next Wed.

Tigs,

Slightly cooler now but still a million times less impressive than your contribution to the cause.

Just tried to read the letters from the objectors on the council website but get a "connection refused" message. Must have been getting a few hits on the site, or hopefully an early sign of possible capitulation. An unreserved thumbs up to all who are engaged in the campaign.

Good effort guys.

I've been living an a very muddy field in the North of Wiltshire for the wekend - dragged off by the ankle snappers.

Came back to the brilliant news about the numbers who have signed the petition.

A big WELL DONE to those of you who were out and about at the weekend in 'bandit country'.

I'm off work now until a week on Monday so available for any tasking in advance of the planning meeting if anything is going on down there.

If not see you all at the meeting. Can someone PM me the RV and timings if they've been decided yet?

Per Ardua!!
