Thank you, Sir. I'm not going to lecture you on ethics, but I have that inscription on the badge on my flying suit. No longer serving, but a member of Albert's extended family nonetheless.

Once again, thank you for your swift and appropriate response, and I understand if it's a bit close to home, mate.

I knew several on XV193.

Blair has just confirmed fatalities in the crash on sky news. No further details given yet, or whether it was crew / pax.

RIP guys. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones.

Point taken. Just wanted 'the big family' to be one in our thoughts. As the PM has now confirmed the worst we can only pray for the them all and be strong for their families.
Keep on trucking.

Blair spoke about the British Army, perhaps inferring that the aircraft did have significant numbers of passengers. This might also explain why there are RN and Army helplines for worried family members.

The details of which Squadron was involved are now 'out there' but in view of obvious concerns, I've removed the reference to which one it was.

Details are now on a US news website.

There are those who will want/need to know, who won\'t have been informed as next of kin. Were it not a Sunday, one might have expected the MoD to keep its website updated to reflect these \'breaking\' events (including the PM\'s comments) but this item has not been updated since 1615. Waiting for official confirmation will be slower than listening to the radio and TV.

Jacko, valiant recovery. The MoD usually pops round to inform in these circumstances. One suggests if you need to know, the wheels are already turning. If you dont need to know but its more of scooping then take it else where please.

Little Bus Driver's first BD today, so a day of mixed emotions, but an apt time to pause and reflect on life's priorities. Sincere condolences to anyone affected by today's sad loss.
