I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could
Waddo has ghosts including a Roman Legionnaire on the High Dyke and another ghost in Newell House.

That is overkill !
There was a believable ghost story current in the '60s about the appariton of a troop of Roman local levies passing through the basement of the Treasurer's House in the precincts of York Minster.
Cannot get a handle on it on Google now. Nor can PPRuNe find the Post I put in about it.

phantom aircraft, ghostly airmen, and other spirits of aviation
There is a bit in the following link that mentions Waddington.

PN- can confirm the ghostly Spit at Biggin Hill, heard it as dusk fell a couple of times. As I lived a few yards from where a RCAF Spitfire crashed I wonder if it is connected.

Brokenlink, horrendous thread deviation but in the absence of a picture: I am pretty unimaginative regarding spirits but we were looking at houses at Little Rissington. They had converted SHQ into 4 houses. In one house I felt very uncomfortable and could wait to get out it was so creepy.
I had never been there before and the building was different from AH A on other stations. Didn't see anything but really spooky.

I am reminded of a pub near an airfield used in the Battle of Britain: one night in 1940, a group of drunken fighter pilots arrived at the pub and, after entering, slammed the door. Unfortunately, the landlord's dog was going through the heavy door at the time, and his tail was chopped off by the force of the closing, and sadly the dog died.
Every year since then, at midnight, the ghost of the dog appears, asking the landlord to give him back his tail, because his soul cannot enter doggy heaven until he is made whole again - and every year, the landlord tells the dog: "I'm sorry, but I can't re-tail spirits after ten thirty".
Hat/coat etc.

The Officers were so camp lampooning the Village People's "YMCA"!

They were beginning to suspect that Lieutenant George (right) knew something about Baldrick (next right). Captain Darling slow to catch on again.

He who says the rhyme did the crime. So AT must be the smug one with the hat on.
