hello,
no not yet, but i would still like to know when they are taking in next. |
Hi all!
I've been reading through this forum for the past few days and would like to confirm if what I’ve understood so far is correct. Here’s my personal context: I’m currently in the IFR phase of training, with just a few months left before my checkride and APS MCC course. I passed all 13 EASA ATPL subjects in Switzerland and have already completed the aUPRT course, Night VFR rating, VFR/IFR RT certificate, and ELP Level 6. I also hold the Medical Class 1 (EASA). By the time I finish, I should have obtained the CPL/IR with ME-IR (with 220 total flight hours, 40 of which are on the sim) and, of course, the APS MCC. That being said, and please correct me if I’m wrong, my next steps to be eligible to apply to FZ are as follows:
For anyone familiar with the upcoming batches: what would be the most feasible time to expect placement in a batch? I anticipate completing my training by the end of February or March. |

You are spot on ! The placement varies and no one can really predict. During my batch from application to getting called to do the course was less than 1 month but i know people who waited nearly 1 year. Same case with getting the job, my previous batch guy were asked to join in less than 2 weeks and there are people who waited 1.5 years so honestly no one can answer this question cause it all depends on the training slot availability.

Recently, passing 14 subjects of the ATPL is required to qualify for the rating program. Furthermore, it is said that passing all 14 subjects is also necessary for the assessment for the rating program. Additionally, there are rumors that this process itself will be transferred to the flydubai training center in the new year.

During covid flydubai themselves did a trial whereby they did the program themselves but for some reason it was discontinued so like you said maybe they willbre start it again.

I see. I was wondering if new courses would be introduced once Flydubai establishes its own simulator center and obtains GCAA ATO certification, but I’m curious how it will proceed!

Is this strictly regarding the GCAA ATPL theory or is EASA ATPL theory considered as well as a requirement to enter the TR programme?

Hello everyone,
It seems that they have updated their website which includes more details about the selection process after the TR. I recently got an answer from the FlyDubai Training Centre : 👇🏻 Kindly be advised that currently flydubai conducts self-sponsored B737 Type Rating Courses for GCAA license holders only. Therefore, if you wish to enroll in the program with flydubai but you hold a foreign license, you will be required to convert your current license to a GCAA one and fulfill the below stated minimum requirements. License conversion can be done, for example, at Fujairah aviation academy. Minimum requirements for B737 Type Rating Course:
Kindly note that successful completion of the program does not guarantee employment. However, once you have successfully completed the course and the skill test (first attempt), then you become eligible to apply for a Second Officer position, if a vacancy is available. Alternatively, for foreign licenses, our training partner - CAE conducts the type rating. You may contact them for more information on the Type Rating Program that they offer. For Second Officer vacancies, please contact Deborah Madushika at from CAE, who can assist you with more information; or continue to monitor our official career website and follow the recruitment process. P-S : Since it's a new account I cannot include any links, you can alternatively find Deborah's email address in previous posts. |

Frozen ATPL is a basic requirement for their program and you will have to do the GCAA 14 exams as well.

Are the 14 GCAA exams required before the TR, or afterwards ? Seems to be some conflicting feedback on this. Doesn't make sense for you to have the GCAA theory, without a job offer.
FlyDubai Training Centre only deals with GCAA licenses only, therefore you must do it before as it is part of the requirement. If you do with CAE you can do it after the TR, as CAE accepts foreign licenses. |

It depends on if you do it with CAE or the FlyDubai Training Centre.

But FlyDubai isn't offering the second officer programme under their ATO right ? You must go through CAE, therefore complete the exams after the TR ?
Check their website (flydubaitrainingcentre) you will find the B737 type rating course. The infos I have forwarded comes from the ATO :). |
Hi Flu HighHigh
How's your GCAA ATPL Going? did you manage to pass relying only on BGS ? |
Good day,
I hold a frozen ATPL from Canada and am wondering who to contact or what the process would be like for someone who holds a Transport Canada licence. Cheers |
