Did anyone apply with FAA CPL?
If yes , do we need both ATP-CTP with written exam results and MCC ?

Yup they require these 3 documents in order to proceed to the pilot assessment stage : 1) ATP-CTP Cert 2) FAA written results 3) MCC Cert

In the USA there is no MCC. The ATP-CTP has a small portion of MCC contained within it.

Yes that's right. However, FAA ATP-CTP course is not accepted by gulf airlines as a substitute for the MCC requirement, you need to take a separate MCC course. Have already verified this with CAE HR.

Hi I am planning to go for the program next year. Already have a SACAA CPL currently working on ATP.
I sent you a text on Whatssap :)

ATP-CTP is only required for an ATP in the USA. Why would you have to do one for Fly Dubai if they don't accept it as a substitute for MCC?

Hello everyone,

I’ve just completed my ATPL GCAA exams and I’m now moving towards the FlyDubai Second Officer program, specifically the Type Rating (QT) phase.

I’m looking for a training partner — ideally someone who also completed the EASA path and is transitioning into the GCAA/FlyDubai pipeline.

If you're in the same situation, or about to start the QT, feel free to reach out so we can coordinate and support each other.

Best of luck to everyone in the process!

Smail

Advanced Compass Test Emirates CAE: Insights
  • Skip the Saville assessment in the Emirates package – you won’t need it.
  • Math questions – focus on the Medium and Hard sets from LPJ. There are about 24 questions in 20 minutes, so practice being quick. The circulating practice questions are very similar to the real test. ( you can skip the 100-question practice section from LPJ not very useful especially those money conversion ones )
  • Short-term memory – same as LPJ. Usually 2 numbers to remember, sometimes 3.
  • Spatial awareness – layout is a bit different from LPJ, but the concept is the same. All instruments are static, so watch out: some won’t have numbers.
  • Multi-tasking – concept is slightly different from LPJ. Red alert boxes are smaller, and there’s no separate timer for each autopilot input. You’ll have 3 sets of test - 2 minutes each. Enter the autopilot info, press enter, then the next input appears. Values change slowly (altitude 500–1000 ft, speed/heading just above 100+ and increasing slightly.
  • Advanced flight control – this is the easiest section, no need to practice. You have rudder pedals and yoke, and can feel each instrument before the assessment. 3 sets of 2 minutes each. Speed is controlled using the up and down keyboard keys.
  • ATPL questions – around 60–70% similar to LPJ; the rest are same like the circulating sample papers.
  • Psychometric test – don’t practice for it. It’s 225 questions in one hour, straightforward, designed to capture your natural responses. Just answer honestly.
Note: Read instructions carefully. Most sections have a test run before the real assessment (except spatial awareness and ATPL). Overall, it’s very manageable if you practice well!

All the best guys!

P.S. PM me if you’d like the sample questions that are circulating.

Thanks for sharing this, really helpful!
I’m a new member so I can’t PM yet — could you please send the sample questions to my email?
[email protected]

Thanks!

You don't need a 737 rating, infact this program is to get a 737 plus a guaranteed interview with flydubai.

The sim session will be on the 737 but you are not expected to know the aircraft it's just for basic flying and airmanship.

Hey!

I'm currently in the study phase of my conversion. I ultimately want fly for FlyDubai. I have a lot of questions regarding the pathway to application with FlyDubai. Can you shoot me a message on here so we can exchange WhatsApp? I am restricted from send you a message unfortunately, haha.

Type rating slot

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a sim partner for the TR.
I chose to do the GCAA route and already did the ELP and GCAA medical, so I will directly get a GCAA license with the B737 endorsed at the end of the type rating.
This can help avoid paying for base training for EASA license holders.
If anyone is considering the same path, feel free to message me.

Hey Skying,

How long between you confirming the pre eligibility requirements did they contact you with a date to complete the 2 day assessment, I’m currently in the process of mapping out what needs to be done and would greatly appreciate any information relevant to the course, or if possible we can email each other directly, Thank you !

Hi,
I reached out to you on WhatsApp, maybe you didn't see my message. Are you still looking for a type rating partner?
