DEc. Its a small c not a Capital C.

History has shown that DEc 's who have joined have often ended up in the other seat and f*cked about.

You are a captain until they decide to swap your fleet, a local (or SVP MM's son) needs an upgrade or AAR's had the wrong number of sugar put in his tea that day.

It's generally what they do when they are struggling to recruit. If you join as a DEc, the likelihood is you will end back up in the right seat with the Captain saying something along the lines of 'it's their train set'

What a pathetic place

Hardly old boy ! but I appreciate what you are getting at . I may have even been a benign influence , but as I and some like minded colleagues have departed , I suspect the usual suspects are in the ascendance, with fewer sensible voices around to keep things reasonable.

No I came from a defunct European legacy carrier
One of the best in its day or so they say. A different attitude to training/ checking which I tried to hang on to at EK. I have to say this was not always easy but I always thought, or at least hoped , I may have been able to make a small positive impact on bith students and instructors .
Perhaps it made no difference at all and other forces ,which were always in the background ,became more dominant . Anyway I left about 3 yrs ago ( pre Covid) so probably shouldnt comment on present day developments.

Depends on how many pilots are in the car. :}

boeingbusdriver 12th Sep 2022 10:10

Any chance of getting called for an interview if your experience on MTOW >30t falls into the 1800-2000 hours category? Stated requirements are 2000 hours or more. My time is on a B737 and I've got more than 150 hours in the past 12 months.

McToryMug 12th Sep 2022 14:01

Hi all, Anybody getting the golden phone call with around 1150 hours on the Air Tractor AT-802? I have a friend who's won the Outback Crop Dusting society most improved pilot of the year for the last 3 years, and now gives lessons to aspiring bush pilots. What are his chances?

:D
Just watch your back when you have to put your heavy suitcase on the roof. Fully stuffed with groceries.

Good teambuilding doing things together.., as said in the BMW, in the bus, but also at the swimmingpool, at school, at the same APC hotspots ( at 10 am in the morning), at the gym, in the clinic, at the drycleaners, on the biketrail, during kitesurfing and dirtbiking and more. More and more colleagues moving out of MS/MH..as you can imagine it can be too much..

teams are everywhere except in the inside of EK - where those teams are just the enemy needed but hated and threaded accordingly
